3 women murdered every day by a current or former male partner in the U.S.

Over 18000 women who have been killed by men in domestic violence disputes since 2003.

40 million adult Americans grew up living with domestic violence.

Many charities and NGO attempted  to help victims speak up and stop the violence. The interventions include ads, posters, installations, and apps.



1. Aspire News_Education and Reach help


Available on iOS; Android
Features: Looks like a news app. Help section contains articles on leaving abusive relationships and links to hotlines and resources. When users are in a dangerous situation, they can activate the Get Help feature by tapping the toolbar of the app three times. This sends a text or a prerecorded audio message to a trusted contact or 911, alerting the contact that the user is in danger. Once the Get Help feature has been activated, the app also begins audio recording.


2. Domestic Violence Prevention_Education and reach help


The app is designed to provide Sailors with anytime, anywhere access to both training and resources about Domestic Violence. The Name includes “Domestic Violence”. Long articles. An emergency is a phone call, I tried to call the domestic Violence Hotline, all the services are busy, I don’t know how much time I should wait. I stay online for about 1 minute and dropped the phone call.  I was asked whether to stay online or waiting for a call- back. This is extremely dangerous for a victim.
